This Cookie Policy explains how Eide Clothing Ltd ("Eide", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on eide.clothing (the "Site"). It sits alongside, and forms part of, our Privacy Policy.

We are required to tell you about these technologies by the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 ("PECR") and, where they collect personal information, the UK GDPR.

1. What is a cookie?

A "cookie" is a small text file placed on your device by a website. Some cookies are essential to make a site work (for example to remember what's in your basket). Others let the site recognise repeat visitors, measure how the site is used, or — on some sites — track you for advertising.

We also use, and refer to in this policy, similar technologies such as localStorage (to remember things in your browser between visits) and session replay scripts (to record an anonymised playback of how a visitor moved through the site for diagnostic purposes).

2. Categories we use

When you visit the Site for the first time you will see a cookie banner in the bottom-right corner. The banner sorts cookies into the categories below. You can accept all, reject all (except strictly necessary), or pick categories under "Manage preferences". You can change your mind at any time from the same banner — relaunch it via the link in the site footer.

Strictly necessary (always on)

These make the Site work. We cannot switch them off and consent is not required. Examples:

cartcart_sigcart_tscart_ver

Shopify

Microsoft Clarity

Anonymous session replay, heatmaps and diagnostic analytics. Helps us see where the Site is confusing or broken. Microsoft documentation: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/clarity/setup-and-installation/cookie-list.

Up to 1 year

Microsoft Clarity records mouse movement, scrolling, clicks and keystrokes (on non-sensitive fields). It is configured to mask form inputs by default; we do not record what you type into password, address or payment fields.

Marketing (off by default — opt-in)

We do not currently run third-party advertising pixels. If we add them in future (for example Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Google Ads, or a re-targeting service), they will appear in this section and will only load after you accept the "marketing" category. We will update this policy before any new vendor goes live.

3. Technical implementation

The cookie banner is the open-source vanilla-cookieconsent library, configured by Eide. The category configuration and copy are managed in our editorial CMS so we can update them without redeploying.

Non-essential scripts are not loaded until consent is recorded. Specifically:

  • Microsoft Clarity is injected by the storefront only after the user accepts the "analytics" category. If consent is later withdrawn, Clarity stops collecting new data; previously-captured anonymous sessions remain in Microsoft's systems for the standard Clarity retention period.
  • Shopify also runs its own Customer Privacy API which gates Shopify Analytics, the Google sales channel, the Meta sales channelShop Pay attribution and any other Shopify-managed pixel. Our cookie banner state is mirrored into that API in real time: when you reject analytics or marketing in our banner, the equivalent Shopify-managed scripts also stop firing. The mapping is: our analytics → Shopify analytics; our marketing → Shopify marketing and sale_of_data; our preferences → Shopify preferences.

4. Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control ("GPC") signal we treat it as:

  • a request to reject non-strictly-necessary cookies for that browser, and
  • where we can associate the request with a customer account, a request to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for the account.

You can learn more about GPC at https://globalprivacycontrol.org.

We do not respond to legacy "Do Not Track" headers because there is no agreed standard for them.

5. Browser controls

You can also manage cookies in your browser settings (and, on most browsers, view exactly which cookies are stored). Removing cookies through the browser will reset the cookie banner so you'll be asked for preferences again.

6. Updates

We may update this Cookie Policy as we add or remove technologies. The Privacy Policy describes how we'll let you know about material changes; the cookie banner will, in any case, ask you again when the set of categories materially changes.
